Long term care award for FiveWays adviser

Ian Evans of FiveWays Financial Planning was honoured at The Symponia Crystal Dolphin Awards for his expertise and commitment to advising elderly people and their families on the complex workings of care fees planning.

Ian, a member of Symponia, the industry body which was formed to safeguard standards of later life financial planning, was the overall winner of Best Case Study by an Experienced Member, sponsored byJust Retirement.

Sarah Pennells, journalist, presenter and founder of Savvywoman.co.uk, hosted the Awards at Symponia’s National Conference on 13th May at The Royal Horseguards in London; the conference was attended by around 120 professionals from the long term care and later life professions.

Commenting on his success, Ian said: “Care fees planning is a very challenging environment. Providing cohesive financial advice for what is arguably one of the most difficult and distressing life stages requires a great deal of commitment and dedication.  The right financial advice can literally change lives and there are many more options available now.  On a day to day level, the work itself is very rewarding but it is always nice to get official recognition, so I am very pleased to get this award.”

Ian has been a financial adviser for 25 years and works closely with five other financial advisers at FiveWays Financial Planning.  Ian is one of the few advisers in the South West who are accredited by SOLLA (the Society Of Later Life Advisers), which assures people seeking advice in this area that they are dealing with a genuine expert in this field.
